Wine and Brandy tour in Armenia

Day 1: Arrival in Yerevan

Arrival in Yerevan Zvartnots International Airport, transfer 
to hotel. 

City Tour, tour of brandy factory "Ararat" with wine tasting. Dinner. Overnight at hotel.

Day 2: Yerevan / Echmiadzin / Zvartnots / Garni / Gegard / Yerevan

Breakfast. A trip to the First Throne City of the Armenian Church – Echmiadzin. Visit of the world’s first Christian cathedral. Tour of the unique museum of Echmiadzin Cathedral, which stores many shrines, worshiped throughout the whole Christian world. Visit the great temple of Zvartnots of early medieval Armenian architecture. Lunch. A trip to the rocky monastery Gegard (5-13 centuries) – Tomb of Proshian princes. Lunch. Continue the trip to the pagan temple of Hellenistic Garni (77 AD), view of “The Tample of the Sun” and the ancient royal bath. This is the only Hellenic temple extant in the region. The temple is located on the edge of the picturesque gorge. Return to Yerevan. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 3: Yerevan / Khor Virap / Areni / Noravank / Yeghegnadzor

Breakfast. A trip to the Ararat valley, visiting one of the 
most revered shrines of the Armenian people – Khor 
Virap monastery, where was imprisoned first patriarch 
of Armenia, St. Gregory the Illuminator for many years.
 The monastery is located for 200 meters from the 
Turkish border, at the bank of River Araks and at the 
foot of Biblical Mount Ararat (5165 m). It is from here 
offers the best views on the Mount Ararat in clear 
weather. Lunch at local restaurant. A trip to Areni 
village, which is famous for its vineyards. A tour 
of the winery, learning the technology of making 
“Areni” wine, wine tasting. Next, a visit to one of the 
most beautiful monasteries of Armenia – Noravank 
(New Monastery) (10-14 centuries). Dinner and overnight
 at the hotel in Yeghegnadzor. 

Day 4: Yeghegnadzor / Selim Caravanserai / Lake Sevan

Breakfast. Caravanserai known as Selim, was built in 1332 at the behest of Prince Chesar Orbelian, located on the Great Silk Road, a picturesque Selim Pass is at an altitude of 2400 meters. A trip to Lake Sevan. Lunch. Lake Sevan is the largest lake in Armenia and one of the world’s largest alpine lakes (1900 m above sea level). The lake area is 1200 square km with fresh and clear water. Visit Monastery of Sevan (9-10 centuries), which is located on the demi-island. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Sevan.

Day 5: Sevan / Yerevan, Free day

Day 6: Departure
Transfer to the airport and departure.
